Jens Martin Skibsted

Jens Martin Skibsted  is one of most inspiring contemporary Danish designers and design thinkers.

He founded Biomega in 1998 as one of the pioneers of the urban mobility movement. He introduced a new path to urban CO2 reduction by making emission free means of transport compete in emotional and brand attractiveness with combustion vehicles. In 2009 he co-founded the product design super-group KiBiSi with Lars Larsen and Bjark Ingels. Jens Martin Skibsted has put into practice the notion that ideas and products are intrinsically tied – that products should be the carrier of their brand idea rather than a designer’s form and formula.

The bikes Jens Martin Skibsted created for Puma and Biomega are collected among others by SFMoMA, MoMA and Le CNAP. His Copenhagen bike is regarded as a new icon of Danish Design and the women’s version received the Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., GOOD DESIGN award.

Products are key to the profitability of any retail business and there is only a few persons world-wide who will be able to inspire and educate your organization on how to create iconic products for your retail channels. Jens Martin Skibsted belongs to those.
